They have damn good chicken. That's what you should go with here, the fried chicken. Excellent value. I don't think you could make it cheaper yourself. I got the two piece dinner with a ton of chips and drink for £3.90. You also get the added bonus of meeting some of the local "characters" and fellow drunks. How can you go wrong?

The chicken is actually pretty decent! Good value too. It has 3 tables so you can eat inside if need be.

Few takeaways can claim to have been featured in a groundbreaking TV show. But McTucky's, right on the corner of Canal Street, was immortalised in Channel 4's Queer as Folk. It always makes me smile when I'm watching the series; it's in the scene where Stuart gets rid of his young niece by giving her money for chips, so he can confront his nephew about a blackmail attempt (Yes, I'm a huge Queer as Folk geek!). Anyway, he says: Here's £20. Get yourself some chips from McTucky's on the corner.

The mention is a lovely little nod for this takeaway, which has been part of post-club village life for years. However, TV stardom aside, it really is just a bog-standard chicken shop. Still, it does have a cheekier name than most  a blatant fusion of McDonalds and KFC!

This place is open pretty late and has a menu that's packed with well-priced fried chicken, chips and all that jazz. Unlike many other nearby takeaways, it has quite a few formica tables for you to sit at, too. So it's a good place to grab something to eat after a boozy night out. Just don't expect it to be a life-changing experience!

This takeaway is ideally situated slap bang in the centre of Canal St. Mainly serving fried chicken, the takeaway venue does serve other filthy but highly desirable fast food tasties after a heavy night on the drink.

The prices are reasonable, average fast food prices and the turn around/serving is very quick. You can have your food and be in a taxi in 5 minutes.

Won't be the best fried chicken in Manchester and one work colleague did protest 'there's not enough skin on this *** chicken!' for amusement although we all knew she was being totally serious! But does the job.
